WHAT TO EXPECT

When you take a New Rider Course at the Riding Academy you’ll:

• Learn to ride on a genuine Harley-Davidson® motorcycle.
• Get in-class and on-range instruction from California Motorcyclist Safety Program® (CMSP) and H-D® Certified Instructors.
• Learn to safely accelerate, shift, brake, and turn.
• CMSP Motorcyclist Training Course DL 389 waiver, which may (varies by state) exempt you from the riding portion of your license exam and a CMSP Motorcyclist Training course Completion Card which may score you a discount on motorcycle insurance.*

THE TIME IS NOW. THE PLACE IS HERE.

*Students with a Valid DL 389 will have one year from the date of course completion to redeem the DL 389 for their M1 Endorsement. DL 389 does not exempt student from the written M1 Endorsement test. 

CMSP COURSE FAQS

What will I need to register?

You'll need a Valid government issued ID, and have the ability to ride a bicycle.

Do I need any special gear?

You'll need to bring the following:

• A heavy, long-sleeve shirt or jacket
• Jeans, chaps, or leather pants
• Over-the-ankle, LEATHER Footwear
• Full-fingered LEATHER or street motorcycle specific gloves
• A Full Face helmet that meets DOT requirements
• Eyewear
